Home bars are a growing trend that has increased massively this year due to the arrival of “you know what”. So many people have felt the benefit from home bars and drinks trolleys - not just from the safety it provided in 2020 but it’s helped us see our own homes as entertaining spaces, saved us money and taught us new skills in cocktail making.

These days we are designing bespoke bars and home entertaining spaces that add to our lives in both style and purpose. There is no need to sacrifice your home aesthetics, only enhance it.

Deciding on what kind of home bar you are going to create is the all important starting point. It can be something as simple as taking over a couple of shelves, repurposing a cabinet or the addition of a drinks trolly. It can also be a major project like the garage refit, the build of a shed or even the remodelling of part of your home.

When it comes to the adding bars to rooms and smaller bar areas at home we recommend you don't over do it. It should feel like a stylish addition and shouldn't jar with what's already there. Think about the space you have, what your essentials will be and work it from there - yes sherry glasses are very elegant but are you going to use them?

Bottles and glasses are pretty much essential but that doesn't mean all of them. If you are tight for space or want to keep it minimalistic then select your best looking bottles and some stylish glasses. If you have space you can dress your area with a selection of glasses but only if you are happy to stay on top of the dusting. In addition you can add bowls for nibbles, cocktail making sets, coasters, beautiful trays, ice buckets and metal straws.

In addition you can add some stylish playing cards, or dominos sets. There has been a surge in beautifully designed traditional home and pub games, you'll be surprised how many people jump at the chance of a quick game.

To define your home bar space why not add some of our cocktail prints or liquor bottle prints. With well over 100 stylish wall art prints that would compliment a home bar area they are the perfect finishing touch for any area of your home.

If you are taking the plunge and creating something a little bit bigger or more permanent there is a lot more to thinking about. For those utilising a larger space you have the freedom to add in seating areas, bar stools, music systems and televisions. Bar areas like these are a real luxury but not unobtainable If you have the space.

What about fridges, freezers, optics and even kegs and pumps for draft beer? If you don't want to install kegs and pumps you now have the option of mini beer dispensers which are easy to use and a great way to give you the ice cold pint that you’d get in your local.

Deciding on a style for a larger home bar can be a topic for much debate. Many people use these spaces to finally showcase their collection of sports memorabilia or music memorabilia - building a shrine to their passions. We are all for surrounding yourself with things you love but be mindful of how overpowering that can be. Taking some time to edit collections can help you find some key pieces that showcase your love but allows for a more stylish finish to your home bar area.

If you are looking to build your own home bar or transform an area of your home into an entraining space don't forget to view our collection of stylish wall art including liquor, beer bottles, cocktail and drink prints.

We Love Prints recommend drinking responsibly... but always in style.
